Let this year's Christmas Day be a very special one with the Furneaux Lodge Christmas Lunch prepared lovingly by our onsite chefs.

Let us take care of all the details, while you relax on Christmas day with family and friends, enjoying fresh, delicious, local cuisine, paired with Marlborough wine and stunning water and native bush vistas. 

SAMPLE MENU

Artisan breads

Begin with a selection of artisan breads and dips, oils and dukkah

Main course - buffet selection

Apricot and harissa glazed free range ham (GF,DF)
Slow cooked, free range Canterbury pork, glazed until golden and sweet

Roasted leg of Flaxbourne lamb (GF, DF)
Marinated in garlic, rosemary and olive oil and served with mint sauce

12 hour smoked Wakanui beef brisket (GF,DF)
Slowly smoked over hickory, seasoned with our special rub

Marlborough Sounds Salmon (GF, DF)
Cured gently in brown sugar, lemon and sea salt then cooked whole on the grill

Mills Bay Mussels (GF)
Steamed simply in white wine, garlic and parsley

Twice cooked new potatoes (GF, DF, vegan)
Steamed, then fried golden, seasoned with confit garlic and sea salt

Roasted root vegetables (GF, DF, vegan)
A selection of root vegetable, roasted with olive oil and sea salt

Last of the asparagus, or the first of the sweetcorn (GF, DF, veg)
Dependant on the season, garnished with Cranky Goat feta and a smokey salt

Black rice salad (GF, DF, vegan)
Black rice salad with dried fruit, capsicums, nuts and a citrus dressing

Thymebank salad leaves (GF, DF, veg)
Local salad leaves dressed in a honey and wholegrain mustard vinaigrette

Dessert - buffet selection

Pavlova roll (GF)
Meringue roll dressed with cream, kiwifruit, strawberries and passionfuit

Dark chocolate tart 
70% dark chocolate tart with sour cherries and crème fraiche

Summer berry trifle 
Classic kiwi trifle using local, seasonal berries

Christmas Petit Fours
A selection of classic kiwi Christmas treats such as fruit mince pies, brandy snaps and chocolate truffles
